The City of Brampton has introduced a temporary Purpose-Built Rental (PBR) Development Charges (DC) Incentive Program to support the creation of more primary, purpose-built rental housing.

The program provides tiered DC reductions, ranging from 50 per cent to 100 per cent depending on unit type, and welcomes applications for purpose-built rental apartment buildings of at least five storeys.

Applications for the program will close on November 13, 2026.

Peel Region’s Development Charges Grant Program

Peel Region provides temporary DC grants-in-lieu equal to 50 per cent of the payable DCs for eligible new residential developments.

Peel Region will officially terminate the DC Grant on November 13, 2026.
